Siliceous sheets form bundles of silicon steel sheet and the core of the transformer windings and rotor, the stator windings of electric motors. The most important feature of the siliceous sheets is its minimizing the magnetic loses and increasing efficiently as a result of this.

Being added to iron, this silica makes iron more stable by reducing the changes which may occur in magnetic properties of iron over time. Metal crystals' heading towards a certain direction during rolling process causes sheet to improve its quality in terms of magnetic properties and to show less need for a particular magnetic circuit.
